• Performed a distribution network optimization study for a national home improvement products manufacturer with multiple plants and distribution centers throughout the North America.  Identified alternative networks for distribution which would significantly increase service while also decreasing distribution costs.  
• Developed a predictive modeling assessment for a multi-million dollar food retailer.  Determined the capabilities of various key operating indicators to identify predictive results as express through satisfactory statistical conclusions.

• Sterling has been awarded an additional contract with a major food manufacturer in managing the implementation process of a production expansion for a new product line.This includes assistance with planning, equipment sourcing, line layout, production ramp-up and management oversight.
• Nick Pacitti and David Sterling taught a four day Cold Chain Management course at the Georgia Tech Supply Chain and Logistics Institute from January 23rd through January 26th.

• Sterling is working with a national supplier of sealant and waterproofing materials to develop a SKU Rationalization Model to decrease overall inventory and ineffective SKU deployment.
• Sterlingcompleted the distribution assessment for a major elevator manufacturer and service provider.  Recommendations included the identification of opportunities resulting in significant levels of savings, ranging up to greater than 15% of logistics costs.

Sterling is working with a 10,000 store food chain in developing a "fast food" strategy in growing their foodservice sales.  Currently the foodservice segment represents a low percentage of their current sales.  In knowing that foodservice margins can typically represent half or more of store profitability this chain is aggressively working toward a complete sales, marketing, production and merchandising strategy. Sterling will be part of their solution in leading the process.

March 2008 - May 2009- Sterling Solutions co-chairs the SQF Food Logistics Technical Advisory Committee.  Through the food logistics committee and its members, Sterling is structuring guidance for safe quality food practices in the logistics industry.  This is done in response to advances in science and technology, the needs of the food industry and to changes in the food regulations.
